Carmen Morsch
Carmen Morsch has been trained and works as an artist, researcher and educator.

She has been involved in freelance project and research work in the field of art in context from 1995 to 2003. Since November 2004 she researches and teaches as a Junior Professor for Material Culture in Education at the University of Oldenburg, where she is completing her PhD research..

Her current activities include a research project examining artists working in Museum and Gallery Education in the UK; Developing relationships between Artists and Other Partners in Schools Network in Lower Saxony (Region of Oldenburg, Germany); an action research and evaluation for project Kids, Art and New Media in Berlin (www.wir-in-berlin.de/kubim), 2003 - 2005; an action research and evaluation pilot project about participation in art of the Association of Free Art Schools in Lower Saxony, 2005 - 2007 (http://www.kunstschulen-nds.de/)

Other work includes the development of the visual elements and a teaching unit about visual representation for the European MA Programme Migration Studies and Intercultural Relations. (http://www.migrationhistory.com/ms/ ); preparation for the exhibition, book and conference on the work of British artist Loraine Leeson, at the NGBK Berlin, November 2005 (www.ngbk.de http://www.cspace.org.uk/) ; Collaboration on application for a European Research Project ELAM (Empowering Learners in Art Museums); application for a research project (working title): critical whiteness for kids how to use material culture (focus: dress) as a teaching tool to become aware of the constructions of the categories race and gender.
